Company History

We launched a new colour compounding site in Maerdy, South Wales and expect to create more than 30 new jobs over the next two years.

We expanded our social media profile through the launch of our Twitter account.

Our commitment to our staff is reconfirmed with the successful renewal of our Investors in People accreditation.

We unveiled our new logo and branding, representing an evolution in our growth and development.

We enjoyed success at the International Rubber Conference and Trade Exhibition, DKT, in Germany in June 2015.

We expanded our technical development centre and opened the SPC Technology School designed specifically to train university graduates. It includes a fully equipped laboratory and compound development facility, which includes new state of the art intermeshing technology using the latest automation and mixer controls. We are now supporting several graduates with tailored individual graduate training programmes.

We acquired IACP JEVSA in Barcelona, significantly expanding our presence in Europe and our place in the world as a leading specialist rubber compounder.

After operating our Wiltshire plant as a subsidiary of SPC and under the name of ATR, we consolidated production with £1.5 million of investment, the creation of more than 20 new jobs and a re-branding to recognise the plant as SPC UK.

After our landlords in Whitby went into administration, we consolidated our focus on our Wiltshire plant. This included offering relocation packages to our Whitby staff and increasing production in Wiltshire.

SPC achieved a further advance in October 2008, with the acquisition of ATR Compounding in Westbury, Wiltshire. The addition of this second site to the Group has resulted in a threefold increase in production capacity, together with additional competencies and manufacturing capability, representing a milestone in our Company’s development and a continued commitment to our customers.

The growth profile of SPC provides testimonial to the success of our business philosophy. This involves making significant and continuous investment steps, including a technical service facility, offering full technical service support and laboratory development and, in 2007, a dedicated FKM line.

We were founded in 2001 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and began trading as SPC UK. We specialise in the supply of competitive high tech rubber compounds to the most demanding and often critical applications. Our name rapidly became synonymous with outstanding technical support, product quality and flexibility.
